See moreThe Search for the Great Spotted Fortulia, the new title in Chloe Savage’s award-winning Hidden Wonders series, is a wild and perilous new rainforest expedition, perfect for children aged 4–7 who love nature-inspired adventures and search-and-find stories.
Set in a tropical rainforest, this is a dangerous and exciting picture book journey with snakes, spiders, panthers, man-eating plants, piranhas, caiman alligators and bugs everywhere.
Filled with Chloe Savage’s incredible trademark detail, including a cross-section of a tree house laboratory!
Will help build an early understanding of biodiversity and the need to protect endangered ecosystems.
Can you spot the surprise at the end of the book?
Join Chloe Savage – winner of the Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2024: Best Illustrated Book – on a journey deep in the heart of the rainforest where there lies a hidden wonder: a flower so rare that the locals say to look at it just once will bring you luck for the rest of your life. This flower is said to have always thrived in perfect symbiosis with a giant chameleon. Find one, and you find the other. Two brave botanists, two best friends, Dr Anissa and Dr Iris, are determined to find it.
It is a journey like no other: jaguars lay hidden in the shadows at night, caimans and piranhas lurk just below the surface of the river, gargantuan snakes slither unseen, and insects of all shapes and sizes bite their skin. Dr Anissa and Dr Iris must work hard and combine their strengths to get through the dense tangle of green, and while enormous carnivorous plants tower over them, the one plant they want is always just out of reach. Will they ever find the Great Spotted Fortulia? Or will they lose themselves instead?
Part of the Hidden Wonders series for children: award-winning, picture book adventures where science meets myth and magic, making STEM accessible to all children.
