Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Little known story from after WW1, when NZ troops waited months in Sling Camp in southern England after the war ended to get a ship home.

Rioting in the camp led to plans to keep troops busy by cutting a giant Kiwi into the chalk hill behind the camp.

The Bulford Kiwi has become a monument built by soldiers, not governments, for themselves and their mates.

In 2017, the Bulford Kiwi was made a protected heritage site by the UK government.
