We were so excited to have THE iconic Suzanne Paul visit Book Hero last week to sign her new book Your Time is Now and do a Q&A. Known to many a Kiwi as the Queen of Infomercials back in the day, I feel like every New Zealand household had one of Suzanne's products from Natural Glow to her Suzanne Clips. This powerhouse of a lady can literally sell you anything!
Suzanne's book Your Time is Now is a guide to help inspire and motivate you to live your best life to achieve your goals. Her advice comes from decades of her experiences, through all the highs and lows of life. While meeting and chatting to Suzanne during her visit, she was so bubbly and it was very easy for her positivity to rub off on you. Even when we were about to take a photo together she whispered "Sparkle and Shine" to me as a little pep talk! We bonded over our love for thrillers and our favourite author Lisa Jewell. She also confessed that if she wrote a fiction novel that it would be a thriller!
But wait there's more! After Suzanne had signed all our copies of her book, we headed into the warehouse to get her to work and pack one of her book orders. She was absolutely amazing on the dispatch desk and learned the ropes quickly from Dom. - What's your favourite genre? Thriller, thrillers all the way
- Is there a book you always recommend? Yes this one! Your Time is Now
- Do you have a favourite childhood book? I was always very Enid Blyton, The Secret Seven, again more thrillers you know solving problems. I would get these from the library.
- Do you have a favourite book-to-screen adaptation? Gone with the Wind
- What are you currently watching? Traitors, I want to be on it! And of course Coronation Street.
- What's next on your reading list? Well, it'll be some thriller. I just read a huge one, Big Little Truths, I read that last week and that was fabulous.Β
- What do you hope that readers take away from your book? I want this book to give them hope and inspiration. I want it to bring them peace and contentment and more happiness than you can shake a stick at.
