In the wet season, a family of brolgas make their nests in the long grass. They look after their eggs, search for food, and dance together.

Written and illustrated by first-time author June Nixon, this stunningly illustrated book will be an immediate family favourite.

The illustrations for Kurrartuwarnti (Brolgas) were produced in workshops with ILF Lifetime Ambassador Alison Lester, and children's author and publisher Jane Godwin.

A fun and bilingual children's book to help preserve the First Nations Language and encourage insight into life in a remote community ... the story has a profound meaning about the connection to the land, a deep regard for the animals, and respect for the culture from which the story emerged. — READING TIME
