Summary

Goodnight Mr. Darcy is a charming parody of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, presented in the soothing style of the beloved children’s classic Goodnight Moon. Set in the Great Ballroom at the Netherfield Ball, the story bids a tender goodnight to Austen’s much-loved characters, including Elizabeth Bennett, Mr. Darcy, Jane, Mr. Bingley, and the gossiping parents, all brought to life with gentle rhyme and warmth.

Description

Goodnight Mr. Darcy, by Kate Coombs and Alli Arnold, is a charming parody that gives the adored children’s classic Goodnight Moon a classic lit makeover, inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.

All of Austen’s much-loved characters are gathered at the Netherfield Ball. In the great ballroom, there is a country dance, a well-played tune, and Elizabeth Bennett; and Mr. Darcy is surprised by a pair of fine eyes. Don’t forget Jane with a blush and Mr. Bingley turned to mush, along with a gossiping mother and a father saying hush.

Parents and toddlers alike will enjoy this new take on Austen’s timeless work in the style of Goodnight Moon.

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?

Reviewed as a delightful parody rather than a thorough adaptation, this book is praised for its soothing rhythm and poetic goodnight bids to Austen's iconic characters and settings. Jesse Doogan from Book Riot calls it a poetic and comforting read to enjoy every night.
