Penelope Rex and the Problem with Pets by Ryan T. Higgins is a delightful tale where Penelope Rex might finally have bitten off more than she can chew—a pet saber tooth tiger! This book serves as a charming companion to the #1 New York Times bestselling We Don't Eat Our Classmates.

Most kids have simple pets like dogs, cats, fish, and guinea pigs. Penelope Rex, however, has Mittens.

At first, Penelope wasn't even sure she wanted a pet when Mittens arrived. But now that he's part of her life, she is determined to make the best of it. However, pets—especially those that are six hundred pounds with six-inch-long teeth—can lead to very big, very messy problems.

In this exciting companion to We Don't Eat Our Classmates, Penelope Rex discovers the challenges and rewards (though mostly challenges) that come with pet ownership.
