A Little Bit of Magic: Building the Rolife Magic Fantasy Corner
Rolife Building the Magic Fantasy Corner

Last weekend, I decided it was about time that I finally built one of the kits we got for the shop so that we could share the magic of Rolife with people who visit us!

I've never tackled a Rolife kit by myself, and honestly, I don't really want to start now, so I asked my mum if we could do another evening of Rolife building (it’s been a while). Luckily for us, Alastair was running the Auckland Marathon, which meant a certain little person was tucked up in bed by 6 pm, leaving us with the perfect opportunity to stay up late and put together the Rolife Magic Fantasy Corner Book Nook!

I have to say, this book nook is absolutely gorgeous. One of my favourite things about Rolife is seeing how all those tiny little details come together to create something so beautiful. It's amazing how pieces that don't look like much on their own can completely transform once everything is assembled.

In this one, I love that you attach picture frames to the walls and then add tiny butterflies inside them, creating such a beautiful effect. It's such a simple idea, but the finished result looks incredible! And then there's the clever use of mirrors, which makes the little nooks look so much longer than they actually are. They create an amazing sense of depth, making the whole scene feel so much bigger and more realistic than you'd ever expect from something so small.

I also love that the light switches off when the doors are closed and then you open them and the light turns on to create the most beautiful impact. It’s seriously a work of art and everyone I showed wanted one for themselves!

It's all these little touches that make Rolife kits so enjoyable for us. There's something so satisfying about watching everything come together and suddenly realising just how much thought and creativity has gone into every little corner.

I also love that as a family, we've decided that we only do these together now. It's such great quality time to slow down and work on something together, chatting about our week or what's going on. I really recommend working on these with someone or a group, each with assigned roles, or better yet, take turns to see what each person enjoys doing the most.
