Description
From the legendary master of adventure, Edgar Rice Burroughs...
The book that launched a thousand imaginations, now in a fine new authorised edition!
John Carter is on the run. His prospecting partner is dead, and the killers are hot on his trail.
Seeking refuge in the rugged Arizona hills, John hides in a cave only to succumb to strange vapours. When he awakens, he finds himself far from his pursuers... and far from Earth—on the planet Barsoom, better known to us as Mars.
Enslaved by green-skinned warriors called Tharks, he soon meets his fellow prisoner—the stunningly beautiful Deja Thoris, a red Martian and Princess of Helium. John resolves to free them both, setting in motion events that will shape the destiny of Barsoom forever.
Embark on a saga of war, romance, and high adventure that spans the stars and recalls the age of mythic heroes in the first volume of Edgar Rice Burroughs' epic John Carter of Mars series.
A Princess of Mars is authorised by the Edgar Rice Burroughs Estate.
