A hilarious guessing game of facial reactions created by the author of bestselling This Is Not A Book

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description
Jean Jullien indulges every young child who bites on a lemon for the sake of the dramatic face that follows (which is every young child), with a book of overreactions. Faces are presented first, allowing the reader to wager predictions of what may have prompted such an expression, before the triggering situation is revealed underneath the gatefold, allowing the reader to piece together the narrative. Based on young children's natural fascination with faces, this book encourages readers to practice empathy and build emotional intelligence, with cleverly simplified and humorously satisfying vignettes. A brilliant addition to Phaidon's growing Jean Jullien board book library.

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?

Why the Face? by Jean Jullien is a popular children's book praised for its humorous approach to teaching facial expressions and emotional understanding. It combines a guessing game format with flaps, inviting young readers to guess the reason behind each character's expression. Reviewers highlight its engaging design, bright illustrations, and effectiveness in promoting empathy and emotional intelligence. This board book is noted for its enjoyment factor and appeal to both children and adults, with many reviewers calling it a standout addition to children's literature.
