The current PWMU Cookbook Committee structure was established in 1977 with the formation of the Uniting Church, consisting of members from both the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches in Victoria. The Committee's role is to ensure the cookbook continues to entice people into the kitchen to enjoy the benefits of their labour. Royalties provide funding for mission and teaching projects of both churches.

About the Author

The Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union (PWMU) in Victoria was formed in 1890. To raise funds, it was decided a cookery book would be produced and the first was compiled in 1904 under the name Home Cookery for Australia. Since then, subsequent editions of this work, now called The PWMU Cookbook, have been managed by a PWMU committee. Their role is to ensure the cookbook continues to entice people into the kitchen and enjoy the benefits of their labour.
