My Summer with Grandad by Tom Tinn-Disbury captures the special bond between a young boy and his grandad. Eric loves spending summers with his grandad, and this time is particularly meaningful. Grandad entrusts Eric with an important role on his old fishing boat, appointing him as the Chief Seagull Shoo-er. However, the summer takes an unexpected turn when Eric and grandad rescue Beaky, a baby seagull. As Eric befriends the little bird, he faces uncertainty about watching his new friend eventually fly away.
