Ex-NYPD homicide detective Nico Doyle is hoping for a quiet night when the phone rings. Inevitably, it's trouble. A woman has been found dead in her home in the Tuscan village of Gravigna, and the sole witness only speaks English. Called in to assist with the investigation, Nico soon concludes that the death was no accident.

The victim, Signora Nora, leaves behind a tangled web of secrets and possible motives: estranged daughters, former lovers, and a valuable property. As suspects multiply, Nico must uncover the truth to restore peace to this sleepy countryside community.

First published as The Road to Murder. Travel to the cypress-lined roads of Tuscany in this new instalment of acclaimed author Camilla Trinchieri's warm, engaging, and deliciously unpredictable mystery series.
