Hakim the donkey is traveling up the mountain to visit his friend Daisy when an old goat appears and warns him about monsters in the fog; Hakim trots on and along the way he encounters 'monsters' who prove to be other travelers going about their business, all of them frightened of half-seen shapes in the mist.

A donkey's trip up the mountain turns eerie when he encounters "monsters" along the way in this humorous, suspenseful tale about challenging first impressions

Description

Hakim is travelling up the mountain to visit his friend Daisy, but the fog is so thick that he can't see the road ahead. Then an old goat appears out of nowhere and delivers a sinister warning: "Beware! Beware! There are monsters up there!"

Hakim trots with caution, until he hears an awful groan, growing closer and closer. And out of the mist comes the strangest creature Hakim has ever seen...

Is Hakim doomed? Or are things not always what they seem? In this clever story about how appearances can be deceiving, Ali Bahrampour reminds us that everyone looks like a monster in the fog—until you get closer.

Monsters in the Fog encourages readers to look beyond first impressions and discover the truth beneath the surface.

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?

Monsters in the Fog is praised for its engaging blend of cartoonish humour and concise storytelling, delivering a tale rich in moral themes. Hakim's steady resolve contrasts with his companions' nervousness, offering a thought-provoking take on fear and perception. The book cleverly plays with reader expectations through its fog-induced illusions, adding an element of surprise and curiosity. The vivid watercolor illustrations enhance the story's charm, making it suitable for both storytime and new readers by balancing humour, mystery, and an important message about overcoming fear.
