"Loud and splashy Baby Capybara must change his ways if he wants a bevy of peaceful birds perched on his back, but when an unexpected critter splashes onto the scene, he realizes he does not need to change himself to find friends."--

Description

A baby capybara learns the best way to make true friends is by being yourself in this whimsically wonderful picture book from the author of The Problem with Pajamas.

Baby Capybara is a great friend. After all, no one else can create obstacle courses, follow treasure maps, or make perfect mud pies. So why is he the only capybara without a beautiful bevy of birds perched on his back? He tries to be more like the other capybaras: he floats calmly, he naps quietly, and he even chews slowly—still no flock!

But when an unexpected critter splashes onto the scene, Baby Capybara realises that, instead of changing himself to fit in, maybe there’s someone out there who loves the same things he does!

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?

I Am a GREAT Friend! by Lauren Stohler is praised for its engaging use of speech bubbles and lively illustrations, effectively capturing the energetic and heartfelt journey of Baby Capybara. It offers a humorous and genuine portrayal of the ups and downs in seeking connections, making it suitable both for entertainment and discussions about social-emotional skills. The character of Baby Capybara is noted for being irresistibly charming, adding a sweet blend of silliness and tenderness to the story.
