Description
To Flush, My Dog
Loving friend, the gift of one,
Who, her own true faith, hath run,
Through thy lower nature;
Be my benediction said
With my hand upon thy head,
Gentle fellow-creature ...
-Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Since prehistory, dogs have served as man's best friend, giving us loyalty, assistance and boundless inspiration.
Dogs offer comfort and amusement to their owners; they provide solace when we're sad, entertaining antics when we're bored, and affection every day. To poets in particular, these beloved creatures are the most bountiful muses, as they bark, yip, hunt, fetch, growl and slumber, reflecting back at us our most heartfelt tenderness and often rewarding us with unconditional love we scarcely deserve.
Dog Poems offers a litter of verses in celebration of our most faithful companions by some of the greatest poets of all time.
Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?
Praised as an ideal companion for journeys and quiet moments, Dog Poems delights true dog lovers with its accessible and touching verses. Dogs Monthly recommends it for frequent enjoyment, while the Daily Mail suggests it as a perfect gift for dog enthusiasts. Your Dog highlights the collection as a celebration of dogs as muses for poetic creativity.
