The Deltora Quest series follows the journey of Lief, who has set out to complete his father's quest to save Deltora from the Shadow Lord. Joining Lief is an ex-palace guard, Barda, and wild child, Jasmine, who is from the Forests of Silence and can speak to trees.

In Deltora Quest 2, evil still reigns in the Shadowlands of Deltora. Lief, Barda, and Jasmine join forces again to find a weapon powerful enough to defeat the Shadow Lord in his own realm. Their quest is to find the seven gems of the fabled Belt of Deltora, but they must face all sorts of perils to find them.
