Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Amazing Pirates is a compendium of swashbuckling pirate adventure stories. Take one pugnacious pirate, add a clueless crew, a poisonous parrot, a psychopathic squid and the merest glimpse of a treasure map— and you have a recipe for the worst kind of marine mayhem.

Colin King's hilarious illustrations bring the crew of the Purple Pimple to all-too-loathsome life and add another layer of lunacy to this collection of nautical nonsense. The short stories are just the right length for bedtime reading, and the lively colour illustrations will amuse every child. This is a book every young pirate will treasure!

This is a fabulous compendium of swashbuckling pirate adventure stories, illustrated throughout with lively colour drawings. Simple vocabulary and entertaining stories make this fun book perfect for reading aloud or for young readers to try themselves.

The seriously silly sea-soaked stories include Shipwrecked!, Overboard!, Becalmed!, Marooned!, Swashbuckled, Suckered!, Timber!, and Scuppered!

About the Author

Nicola Baxter has written or compiled over three hundred children's titles and loves the magical way that words and pictures work together in children's books. She likes computers, crime and cakes (not necessarily in that order) as well as tales of pirate ships and treasure. Colin King has been illustrating children's books since 1976. He has worked on over 60 titles, many of which have enjoyed international success. His four children have grown up, but he, fortunately, hasn't, which is why he enjoys drawing pirates without their trousers. He lives in a crooked house in Suffolk, England, with his wife, dog and cat.
