Description
A dark contemporary romance from viral BookTok and USA Today bestselling author Emily McIntire, featuring reimagined characters from popular fairy tales and other stories.
Scarred is a spellbinding tale that sweeps readers into a world of royal intrigue and deeply forbidden desires. Set against the backdrop of a kingdom on the brink of war, the story follows Prince Tristan Faasa, a brooding figure scarred both physically and emotionally by his past. Never meant to rule, Tristan has lived in the shadow of his brother Michael, the crown prince, who embodies everything Tristan despises.
With their father’s death, the throne is Michael’s by right, but Tristan has other plans. As the clandestine leader of a rebellious faction, he is prepared to do whatever it takes to seize the crown from his brother, thereby ending Michael’s tyrannical reign. Enter Lady Sara Beatreaux, Michael’s beautiful and formidable betrothed. As she arrives at court, she too harbours a hidden agenda: to marry the king and dismantle the Faasa lineage, even if it costs her life.
However, Sara’s encounter with Tristan throws her meticulously laid plans into disarray. Tristan is unlike any man she has ever met—dangerous, alluring, and utterly forbidden. Despite her resolve, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to him, blurring the lines between duty and desire. As passion and tension ignite between them, Sara must decide what truly matters: her mission of vengeance or the Scarred Prince who has unexpectedly captured her heart.
Throughout this dark and tantalising romance, McIntire masterfully reimagines a classic tale with adult themes and complex characters. The narrative is imbued with electrifying chemistry and steamy encounters that are both thrilling and heart-wrenching. Scarred delves into themes of love, revenge, and redemption, enticing mature readers with its provocative and evocative storytelling.
