Description
Big fantasy. Small package. Your favourite axe-wielding anti-hero is now available in a portable compact edition in Barbaric, (Compact Edition) Book 1. Perfect for your back-pocket when you head out on a side quest.
Owen the barbarian has an axe. And he's gonna do good with it if he has to kill someone.
Owen the Barbarian has been cursed to do good with what remains of his life. His bloodthirsty weapon, Axe, has become his moral compass with a drinking problem. Together they wander the realm, foredoomed to help any who seek assistance. But there is one thing Owen hates more than a life with rules: Witches.
Welcome to the skull-cracking, blood-splattering, mayhem-loving comic brave enough to ask: How can a man sworn to do good do so much violence? Hah! F*ing with you! There's no mystery. It's just... Barbaric.
Hailed as one of the best comics of 2021 by Entertainment Weekly, Thrillist, Screen Rant, and more, the acclaimed fantasy comic is back in a big way, though a smaller package. This compact edition collects Barbaric, Vol. 1: Murderable Offenses, Barbaric, Vol. 2: Axe to Grind, and the one-shot, Barbaric: The Harvest Blades!
From writer Michael Moreci (Dungeon Crawler Carl: Crocodile, Wasted Space, The Plot, and Revealer) and artist Nathan C. Gooden (Post Malone's BIG RIG, Brandon Sanderson's Dark One, The RUSH, Vampire: The Masquerade)!

About the Author
Michael Moreci is a screenwriter and bestselling comics author. His award-winning debut feature film, Revealer, premiered on Shudder in the summer of 2022. He was recently hired by Paper Street Pictures to write the suspense thriller Come Find Me, and he recently completed directing his first feature film, from a screenplay he co-wrote. In the comics space, Michael is the creator of the acclaimed gothic horror series The Plot, the werewolf drama Curse, and the sword-and-sorcery series Barbaric, which Entertainment Weekly, Thrillist, and many others called one of the best comics of the year. He’s also written for numerous legendary characters and properties, including Star Wars, Batman, and Stranger Things.
Acclaimed artist Nathan Gooden is known for co-creating the bestselling comic, Barbaric, as well as his work on Post Malone's Big Rig, Brandon Sanderson’s Dark One, and Dark Knights of Steel. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland and plays a lot of basketball.
Artist / writer Richard Pace has applied his talents to numerous industries including games and television, but comics remains his greatest love. Hailing from Canada, Richard has contributed to BATMAN: THE DOOM THAT CAME TO GOTHAM (DC), PITT (Image), NEW WARRIORS (Marvel), AND IMAGINARY FIENDS (Vertigo). Currently, he is working on BARBARIC for Vault Comics.

Jim Campbell is a twice-Eisner-nominated comic-book letterer, one-time writer (perhaps again in the future!) and occasional artist (although his enthusiasm rather outstrips his actual ability). He knows more about print production than mortal man was meant to know and has also scanned more images than you've had hot dinners. Unless you're ninety years old.
