A tale of a young girl's adventures in a strange and magical world, as illustrated by Tove Jansson. Originally published in English in 2011, Lewis Carroll's timeless classic is now available in this beautiful slipcase edition — a treasure to behold.

Description

There's nothing quite like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Described by The Times on its first publication in 1865 as 'an excellent piece of nonsense', this inspired tale of a young girl's adventures in a strange and magical world has gone on to become one of the most popular books ever written. It has been translated into over 125 languages and is said to be the most frequently quoted book after the Bible, Quran and Shakespeare.

In Tove Jansson, the story of Alice finds an illustrator worthy of its enchantment and surreal beauty. Jansson is renowned worldwide for her hugely successful Moomin books. What is less well known is that in 1966 she devoted her unique gifts as an illustrator to recreating the remarkable world of this most famous of children's characters.

Over fifty years after she presented Lewis Carroll's masterpiece to a Scandinavian audience, Tove Jansson's beautifully illustrated edition of the original text of this classic work is now presented in a special slipcase edition - a treasure to behold.

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Slipcase Edition) is praised for its whimsical storytelling and illustrative detail, capturing the imagination of both children and adults. Reviewers often commend the quality of the slipcase edition for its craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal, making it a prized addition to any book collection. The timeless narrative and unique characters continue to enchant readers, reaffirming its status as a classic in children's literature.

About the Author

Lewis Carroll (1832–98), the pseudonym of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, was an English author, poet, mathematician and photographer. His most notable works are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865), one of the best-selling children's books of all-time, and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass (1871). He was noted for his facility with word play, logic, and fantasy. His poems Jabberwocky (1871) and The Hunting of the Snark (1876) are classified in the genre of literary nonsense. Tove Jansson (1914–2001) was a Swedish-speaking Finnish author, novelist, painter, illustrator and comic strip author. Most famous for her much-loved Moomin novel series for children, Jansson's books have been translated into over forty languages. In 1966, she received the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for her work as a children's author.
