The works, mainly inspired by his childhood memories and objects in his father's pharmaceutical laboratory, are crafted in the historical workshops of Murano, an island in the Venetian Lagoon renowned worldwide for the glass creations of its artisans.

Chandeliers, table lamps, vases and other objects featured in this book are designed for both public and private spaces, frequently displayed in hotels, theatres, train stations, and offices across multiple countries.

Glass is a material that is both simple to make and difficult to work with, offering infinite creative possibilities for those who master it. The collaboration between Wilmotte and Murano's craftsmen results in unique works that play with forms and supports. The designer's vision permeates all the glass creations. The transparency and malleability of glass allow for the creation of delicate artworks with sharp lines, making it an ideal medium to emphasise symmetry and equilibrium - key themes in Wilmotte's work.

The photographs in Wilmotte - Murano, exclusively taken in Venice, invite readers to journey through the city and the artisans' workshops. Alessandra Chemollo's work contrasts the postcard-perfect Venice with Wilmotte’s creations, capturing images that play with light and reflections.
